Here are some adorable pictures of her from Christmas. I wasn't there, but Sheryl sent them to me.
Look at how sparkling her eyes are!
Look at her left hand--it looks like she really knows what she's doing!
I love how her hands are clenched into fists, like she's determined to use that wand to change the world!
I think she looks like she's posing for a GAP ad in this one.
One of the hardest things for me about being so far away from my family is that I don't get to witness Elena's childhood. I'm the absent auntie--the one she won't know when I come back. And she's the person that seems to be changing the most while I'm away. I miss her.

Oh man, we've talked about this before so you know what I think of that little girl, but let me just say again... She is the most beautiful little girl ever. Takes after her mommy and her aunties for sure.
I keep coming and looking at these and I think she kind of looks like Eliisha... Do you remember Eliisha? I wonder if that's why I think she's so gorgeous. Or it could be that she is just gorgeous.
Hey! She is terribly cute, isn't she?! But, she does know who you are, Heather, so no worries!
Only 2 more months...
Well, knowing who I am and knowing me are sort of two different things, I think. But I know Joanne tries to make sure she remembers me. Becky...I do remember Eliisha (I don't think I knew that was the spelling, though), and, yeah, they look similar. How old is Eliisha now?
Uhhhhh... Let's see here...
11? 12? One of those. Oh yeah. 12 in May. That's right. 12.
Heather (and Joanne), Elena is a BEAUTY! I BET it's very hard to be away Heather, but she's a loving little one... you can just see it! I know she loves you already and you and Elena will have no trouble picking up - just like best little buds.

Heather,
Elena does talk about you all the time - we talk about you whenever we are playing with the cute bead animals you sent her, or when she's talking about Auntie Sheryl and Auntie Sylvia you are always included. "This cookie is for Auntie Heather" or "This is Auntie Heather's pillow!" (must be from when you stayed at our place last :)
Anyway, this is the first time I've read your blog. Sorry!!! However, I do love it! (and you of course)
