The visit to the dentist went well. No cavities! Our dentist here is really nice and very smiley. I like him. I've always liked dentists. I like my dentist at home because he's very brusque and basically acts like you're not really there. I can just read the posters on his ceiling and he can work away in my mouth and we're both happy. I've never had such a friendly, cheerful dentist before. When I was talking to him, I just felt like dentistry was so exciting and maybe I should look into it as a new career path.
Anyway, today the kids arrived back on campus. I'm happy to have them back here, but it's a little weird, too. It's a reminder that my lazy days of inactivity are over. This languid vacation was blissful at first, but I am actually very happy to be getting back into a routine and being productive every day.
The scary thing about the beginning of term is that there is no such thing as "gearing up". We go from holiday to full-speed ahead in one day. My life will change drastically tomorrow. I will have rare leisure time, which I will therefore treasure all the more because of it's infrequency. I will be running from thing to thing and my house will become a revolving door of students. The other night, I was looking at my schedule and sort of wondering how I'm going to have the energy to do it all. I've been taking it too easy for too long.
So, term has begun. Pray for me. Pray that this will be a wonderful term in which God is glorified in all I do.
