This afternoon I came across a slip of paper on which I had written down some thoughts during the term about how, just when I think I’m at the end of myself, there is a Source of strength that provides me with what I need to get through. I think this is such a comforting and amazing part of life with Christ: there’s always more grace, more love, more forgiveness, more strength available when you need it. I use all my own physical resources up (which, of course, also came from God) and then, when I’m done, He begins and that is so cool because He never ends. He never runs out. The storehouse is full and overflowing and eternal.
Of course, during vacation, I don’t notice this as much, because I’m not being pushed to the limit in terms of demands on my time, energy, patience, etc. I have, however, been feeling the pressure of extra expenses during holiday time—gifts and special baking and that sort of thing—and as of Saturday I was out of money until my next paycheque. Today I thought I had a plan that would get me through until the end of the month, but that fell through when I realized that the business office isn’t open all week. I thought there would be no other way to access some cash except to borrow money, and that had me feeling a little down. And then I went to my mail box and there was this mysterious and unexpected cheque for $100! Isn’t God amazing!! I love it when He does that!

You're right, Heather. I always forget how God really comes through for me when I need it and that he's there even when I think I don't need it. I sometimes try to imagine how big my faith must be.. it's usually pretty small.
Great post Heather Epp! Hey. I need your mailing address ASAP. I'm sending you a Christmas card and I'm hoping it will still make it on time for Christmas.
