Every term, there is one weekend activity that is planned by the Student Council. During first term, this event is traditionally "Carnival", a big costume party complete with games and prizes for all ages. I had intended to put together a Captain Jack Sparrow get-up, but procrastinated for too long, so that didn't end up working out. In the end, I went as Cleopatra, and will have to find someone who took a picture of me, because I only have shots of my face, not my costume, from that night. Here are some of the other characters from the evening.
A nod to the movie "Nacho Libre"
The Spice Girls
Oh, here's one of me after all...Kyleigh was going to be one of my pirate crew, when I was Jack Sparrow. She helped me get the Cleo get-up together. (I added this on 5 Jan. 2007)I actually don't have any pictures of either of our class parties (we had two this term, for some reason). For the first one, we booked the gym and had a giant badminton tournament, played Korean clapping games, and made s'mores over a bonfire...in the rain. For the second party, we had a number of options set up: "Wallyball", a Christmas movie, board games, and basketball. We served ice cream with about 2 dozen topping choices.
The Senior class officers also organized a special outreach project, using tithe from the funds raised by our class through Senior Store. A number of us went into the nearby hills and repaired a widow's house and cultivated her neighbour's garden.
This is the house we helped repair.Throughout the term, I've had a lot of student visitors at my house. I enjoy having the kids over for meals, or just hot chocolate and a visit. Here are a few junior girls who decided to cook supper for me one night.

And finally, term came to an end and we finished off with our Christmas concerts. Here are some of my Adoleo vocalists singing "The Christmas Song" at the Jazz Band conert.

So now it is vacation. The students have scattered around the continent, and some have travelled to the US or Korea to celebrate the holidays with family. Campus is calm and quiet and...a little empty...but I am enjoying the much-needed break from the busyness of term. Classes resume on January 3.

Hey!! Sorry it took me so long to check your blog.. I didn't think you would have time to update it before your vac!
I'm glad term ended well! Your Adoleo team looks great :)
I had a dream last night that you and I went on a vacation somewhere but we missed our plane.. at least the one that took off from Blaine Lake.. I saw it fly away :)
I had a dream last night that we were at camp, staying in that tiny cabin we stayed in with Sheryl... And while you were working in the kitchen I helped myself to some of your clothes. I needed them for the banquet. I hope you don't mind.
