Some of the Koreans and a Brazilian
Natalie (USA), Iel (S. Korea), Sarah (USA)
Amy, Me, Sherry, and DanielleThen we returned to the chapel for the flag ceremony, where dozens of flags were paraded to the stage by students from the countries represented.
This was followed by an all-school picture on upper field, which took almost half and hour. After that, we were treated to a wonderful smorgasbord of tasty ethnic food at the cafo. It was a great day, and, as usual, scorching hot. We had the afternoon off.
Multicultural Day, which was last Wednesday, was the kick-off for our Spiritual Emphasis week. We had our last SEW session on Sunday night. The students who led the praise and worship did a great job, and the leadership class provided us with quirky entertainment, as usual. KJ Stevens, from Bayside Church somewhere in California, spoke to us about our identity in Christ, about stepping outside of the box and serving Jesus with passion. He reminded us that “there is more to [our] live[s] than just avoiding failure” and that “a position to fail is a position to grow.” It was a great time of focusing on God’s greatness and His will for our lives.
We also had our 5th Senior Store last Saturday, and introduced several new items, including cream-filled donuts (I think they’re called Bismarks at Tim Horton’s…or maybe Boston Creams??), iced coffee, iced mocha, and funnel cakes. Only four more stores to go!! (But who's counting?)

Wow! Your stores always look so good. I'd love to try those donuts!
Yup, the Boston Creams are from Tim Horton's - the Bismarks were Robin's Donuts....I think. What's a funnel cake?
Are there only 4 Canadians there this year - or more that just weren't in the picture?
Miss you tons!!
What's a funnel cake? Oh Joanne. That is sad.
Heather, your job is so cool. I'm so glad you're there. I love living vicariously through you.
mmm... that chicken makes me hungry!
Your multicultural day looked like fun! Maybe next time you should fly me out and I could be a guest speaker or something....:)
