THE HOME STRETCH

Well, I have finally made it to exam week. It’s a good thing, too, because I am so tired and impatient and irritable, I shudder to think of the relationships I would be damaging if I had to keep on trying to teach anything new these days. I haven’t posted anything in a while, so I guess I have some time to account for here…

THE WEDDING

Over midterm weekend, I took a whirlwind trip to Winnipeg to witness my sister’s wedding. It was wonderful to see so many of my family and friends…even though the time was so short and it was hard to budget my time and energy to everyone’s satisfaction. The wedding was beautiful…Joanne looked like a goddess and the weather was perfect.

I was so glad that my niece, Elena, remembered me and warmed up to me in the short time I was there. She was a delight!

BACK TO SCHOOL

Coming back to work after that highlight was not an easy transition…especially since all my seniors, who before I left were diligent and attentive…

became listless and disengaged after their class trip to Mombasa.

JEDIDIAH SUNDAY

The music ministry team I am managing led another Sunday worship the weekend after we all got back from midterm. They did a great job.
We have only three more performances this year: this Saturday at Jazz Band Concert, this Sunday morning, and then Grad next weekend.

SOPHOMORE RESTAURANT

Every year, the Sophomore class hosts a restaurant night with a theme and a fancy menu. This is sort of their practice for banquet, since they’ll be organizing that next year, and also a way for them to raise money to pay for said banquet. This year’s theme was “A Night on the Islands”, and I attended with some of my staff friends. A good time was had by all.

JUNIOR STORE

As a sponsor of the Junior class, I have the responsibility of overseeing the donut glazes, as well as the advertising for Junior Store.
We have successfully survived two stores now, with the last one of the year coming up this weekend.

That about updates you on things to this point. I've had enough trouble getting this post done, so I'll end it for now and hopefully update it again in a week or so.

The first time I read this I thought you said your students were listless and deranged. Ha ha ha. Thanks for the update, it's good to know what you've been up to.

Oops. That was Becky. Not my mom. I'm at their house and I didn't notice that she was signed in... :)

Heather, I'm so happy you came out to our wedding! I miss you now...

It looks as though you have a million things to do out there! Donuts at the store? Yum! I'm praying for you. I wish I could see you again soon.

Elena talks about you all the time :)
