• There are termite wings everywhere. (The termites come out when it rains, fly around looking for light, crawl through the cracks under the doors, fly around for awhile, shed their wings, and then walk around for a few more minutes until they die. Some students (and staff) consider termites a tasty treat. They eat them alive, or sometimes fry them. I have not yet experienced this taste sensation and have no intention of changing that.)
• Rugby PRACTICE attracts large crowds of spectators.
Yes, it really is just PRACTICE that we're watching.
• Half of RVA takes a day off to cheer on our rugby teams at the prestigious BlackRock Tournament in Nairobi. This happened yesterday and, much to everyone’s delight, our Varsity team won for the second year in a row! Go BUFFALOS!
In other news…
Jedidiah did a great job of leading worship in church this morning and presenting special music. Here’s a picture of them singing the National Anthem at our Flag-Raising chapel on Friday.

You guys watch rugby PRACTICE? You must be really bored out there... in Africa... I'm sure your Jedidiah team did really well!
Thanks for your wonderful comment on my blog. It makes me feel so much better...
Bored? In Africa? Really? I guess once you get used to it almost anything could get boring...
I didn't say anything about being bored, did I? Or were you assuming that we were watching rugby practice because we were bored. We don't watch it because we're bored, we watch it because we're crazy about rugby. Our varsity team are our heroes. It's a slight obsession out here.
Oh, never mind. I get it now. SHERYL thought we were bored. Well, we're not.
LOL. I'm glad you're not bored. You don't look it, but I think I would be bored watching rugby... Although, never having seen the game played maybe I don't know what I'm talking about... Although, knowing me and my lack of interest in most everything sporty maybe I do...
On a completely different topic, I want to be you today. I want to be single, with no children and no husband, living and teaching in some far off land, with my whole future still stretching in front of me with endless possibilities. (I'm having a bad day here in Dorkton. Don't ask. The grass is always greener I guess. I wish I could at least come for a visit. Or time travel. I'd love to be at Redberry hiding in a bush with you, about to be attacked by wasps. Wasn't that fun?)
this one made me homesick. rain here is so boring... no mud, no flying ants. sigh
