Visitors from Canada

It seems I am not disciplined enough to keep up this blog. I wouldn't be surprised if no one even reads this anymore because they're probably all too frustrated by the horrible lack of news that it contains.

Anyway, the second school term of my second year at RVA is now over. 2 days before the end of the term, my sister Sheryl and cousin Deb arrived in Kenya for a visit. So I have been showing them around my little corner of Africa and have really enjoyed all the experiences we've been having together.

Having dinner at my house.

A litte orphan elephant at Sheldrick's in Nairobi.

Feeding the giraffes at the Giraffe Centre in Nairobi.

On a hike near RVA with some of the station kids.

Giraffes on the side of the road as we drove through the Great Rift Valley on our way to the Maasai Mara National Park.

A cheetah in the Maasai Mara. This was my first-ever cheetah sighting in Kenya.

A mother and baby in the Maasai Mara.

A lionness at the Maasai Mara.

Sheryl taking a break at the tented camp.

Our group on the safari...me, our driver, Jackson, Sheryl, Connie and Albert Covington from Chatanooga, Tennessee, and Becky Carter from RVA. Deb took the picture.

Heather,
Your pictures are absolutely amazing! How close were you to all of the animals? Were you in the vehicle? Any more lion stories? Wow! So glad your sister and cousin are there to share Africa with you! Enjoy your time together! :)
